Sport and Enrichment

Children's experience is broadened through a range of visits, visitors and special focused events over the year. Examples include: visits to Tonbridge and Bodiam Castles, Kent Life Museum, Lullingstone Roman Villa, Tenterden Railway as Evacuees. Drusilla's, Greenwich Maritime Museum. As well as this children visit local businesses and farms whilst special focuses include Castles Day, Health Week, Road Safety and a Maths Week. Infants perform a Nativity at Christmas and Juniors put on their performance in the Church. A whole school performance is our focus in June. Year 5 and 6 go on School Journey to the Isle of Wight and in the alternative year to a PGL centre at Marchant's Hill.

A popular activity is gardening where children grow their own vegetables and flowers helped by a local gardener. We are proud that they won the adult cup for their display of vegetables this year at the Village Show.

A range of musical opportunities are offered to include: violin, guitar, recorder, flute and singing. Each year children in Year 3 and 4 are offered wider opportunities with free tuition in flute or violin. The Singing Club is involved in a variety of concerts to include Young Voices at the O2 Arena, Sing Up, Carol Singing and in-school concerts.

We encourage children to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities. This includes: Football Club, Netball Club, Craft Club, Dance Club, Karate, Multi Sports, Singing Club and Cross Country
At other times of year there is coaching after school in tennis, cricket and tag rugby. A recent additional has been flower arranging which enabled juniors to enter the Village Flower Show.

Sport is an important part of school life and our School teams take part in a local Football and Netball league, and represent the school during the year in Tag Rugby, Kwik Cricket, Basketball, Speed Stacking, Agility, Hockey, Tri Golf and Cross Country.
