Welcome to Elm Class
We are a mixed Year 1 and 2 class. The teaching team is made up of Mrs Foy and Mrs Pollington along with Miss Hall who is our Teaching Assistant.
A typical day in Elm involves a morning of maths, phonics/spelling and literacy where the learning is delivered in engaging and practical ways, to suit the needs of both year groups.
Other subjects such as history, art and geography are taught in the afternoon. We enjoy making the most of our rural setting to enhance the learning wherever possible.
We are passionate about making the transition from Reception to the more formal Key Stage 1 setting as smooth as possible, and this is achieved through placing the children at the centre of our curriculum. We have high aspirations for all our children, and aim to send them home each day happy, inspired and excited to return the next day!
