Walking in the shoes of others

  • Ethos

    Values that last a lifetime

At Penshurst CE Primary School we aim to treat our pupils as individuals, understanding that each child has their own unique character. Our Christian values are embedded and impact on every aspect of school life.

A central part of our philosophy is to help children understand how our actions impact on those around us. We want pupils to walk in the shoes of others and try to help people. This key value is reflected in the work we do in school, raising money for charity, giving a voice to the voiceless, and taking part in community life.

Our aim is to ensure every child acquires the knowledge, skills and understanding to be a responsible citizen in today’s world and prepare them for the next steps in their learning journey.

Here are the core principles of our vision.

    We work together

Pupils, parents, governors, teachers and support staff all work together to make our school a vibrant and exciting learning environment.

    We all belong

Every member of our school community is valued and welcomed. Everyone is celebrated for their unique qualities and encouraged to know themselves. We nurture pupils; developing their wellbeing through physical activity and embedding our Christian values in all we do and say.

    We inspire growth

Our curriculum inspires and encourages curiosity and reflectiveness, while developing confident life-long learners. Our skills -based learning enthuses and engages pupils. Creativity is at the heart of our learning.

We offer opportunities for all pupils to ‘Live life in its fullness’ (John 10:10); to flourish and grow spiritually.
