Languages: Spanish

At Penshurst Church of England Primary School we believe that the learning of a foreign language is able to provide not only an educational experience for our pupils, but also develop their social and cultural development.

We aim to foster their broader communication skills and develop their knowledge of how language works through the teaching of Spanish. Learning another language gives children a wider perspective on the world, and encourages exposure to other cultures and a greater understanding of their own.

Children are introduced to other languages through enjoyable and stimulating lessons that are accessible to children of all abilities. These lessons encourage an interest in language learning, develop speaking and listening skills, and provide the foundations for future language study as our pupils move into secondary school.
