Learn about life in school
Our aim is to make everyone feel at home in our school – children, parents, staff and visitors. Every child is greeted in the morning and welcomed into school. Our size means that we really get to know all our pupils and their families, and can offer support and help where it is needed.
There is always a member of staff on the playground to help with queries and take messages. Most mornings Mrs Elliott is on hand for a quick chat or catch up.
Our day begins at 9am when the register is taken, pupils can come into school from 8.45am.
Lesson schedule
In the morning, Foundation and Year 2 run from 9am to 10.15am. After a break, lessons resume at 10.30am until lunch at midday. For Year 3 to Year 6 pupils’ lessons run from 9am to midday, with a 15 minute break at 10.45am.
Lunch runs for an hour until 1pm. In the afternoon, lessons go through until the end of school at 3.15pm. Children in our Foundation and Year 2 classes break when needed in the afternoon.
At the end of the day children are brought to the front playground.
We also offer an Early Morning and After School Club.
School Dinners
School dinners are provided by Emma’s Kitchen and are cooked at Leigh Primary School daily. For Year 3 students and older the cost is £2.60 per day, which must be paid in advance online via ParentMail.
