Walking in the shoes of others

  • Our Vision

At Penshurst CE Primary School we support our pupils to be ‘Good Samaritans’ who walk in the shoes of others; our Christian Values promote living life in its fullness. We prioritise the well-being of our school community and encourage our pupils to feel comfortable with who they are. Our local community is important to us; we care for both the people and the environment. We also think about how our actions touch the lives of those in the wider world.

Our rich and ambitious curriculum inspires our school community to have a love of life-long learning and to strive for excellence in all we do. We support every pupil enabling them to flourish and to always aim high in whatever they do.

  • Our Values

  • We also believe that…

    We work together

Pupils, parents, governors, teachers and support staff all work together to make our school a vibrant and exciting learning environment.

    We all belong

Every member of our school community is valued and welcomed. Everyone is celebrated for their unique qualities and encouraged to know themselves. We nurture pupils; developing their wellbeing through physical activity and embedding our Christian values in all we do and say.

    We inspire growth

Our curriculum inspires and encourages curiosity and reflectiveness, while developing confident life-long learners. Our skills -based learning enthuses and engages pupils. Creativity is at the heart of our learning. We offer opportunities for all pupils to ‘Live life in its fullness’ (John 10:10); to flourish and grow spiritually.

  • Values that last a lifetime

At Penshurst CE Primary School we aim to treat our pupils as individuals, understanding that each child has their own unique character. Our Christian values are embedded and impact on every aspect of school life.

A central part of our philosophy is to help children understand how our actions impact on those around us. We want pupils to walk in the shoes of others and try to help people. This key value is reflected in the work we do in school, raising money for charity, giving a voice to the voiceless, and taking part in community life.

Our aim is to ensure every child acquires the knowledge, skills and understanding to be a responsible citizen in today’s world and prepare them for the next steps in their learning journey. As part of our commitment to our pupils we aim to provide our pupils with a ‘suitcase’ that will support them at each stage of their learning journey. We call this ‘The Penshurst Suitcase’. The contents illustrates clearly that we believe being ready for the next steps is not only being academically ready but also socially and emotionally ready.
