More than fundraising
Penshurst CofE Primary School is very much a community school. Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an active and integral part of that community, providing closer links between home and school, and enjoying a key role in bringing children, parents and staff together.
Fundraising is an important function: the PTA raises money to spend on equipment and resources to enhance the children’s education and the school facilities in general. Fundraising is not the only goal, however; a number of events are funded by the PTA with the aim of providing enrichment for the children and saying thank you to its members.
On the PTA committee there are six Trustees, including a Chairperson, Treasurer and Company Secretary. The Committee meets three times a year to set the Strategic Direction and provide Governance of the Association. We host two members’ evenings each year, these are an opportunity for members to come together, share ideas and provide feedback. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held at the beginning of each academic year.
If you are interested in joining the PTA, or would like to find out more about our work, please contact us, or join us at our next meeting.
