More than fundraising
Penshurst CofE Primary School is very much a community school. Our Parent Teacher Friends Association (PTFA) is an active and integral part of that community, providing closer links between home and school, and enjoying a key role in bringing children, parents, the wider village community and staff together.
Fundraising is an important function: the PTFA raises money to spend on equipment and resources to enhance the children’s education and the school facilities in general. Fundraising is not the only goal, however; a number of events are funded by the PTFA with the aim of providing enrichment for the children and saying thank you to its members.
On the PTFA committee there are five Trustees, including a Chairperson, Treasurer and Company Secretary. The Committee meets regularly to set the Strategic Direction and provide Governance of the Association and agree use of fundraising proceeds according to the needs of the school. We also have regular meetings for the wider PTFA committee which are an opportunity for members to come together, share ideas and provide feedback. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held at the beginning of each academic year.
If you are interested in joining the PTFA, or would like to find out more about our work, please contact us, or join us at our next meeting.
