  • At the current time we are awaiting information from the Department of Education regarding the reopening of schools on the 8th March 2021.  For the weeks commencing 22/2/2021 and 1/3/3/2021 school will be closed to most pupils.  For the period of school closure  we continue to offer our pupils a range of engaging learning activities and Zoom live lessons that will be in line with our planned curriculum for Term 4.

Remote Learning at Penshurst CE Primary School

In school learning does not necessarily lend itself to being replicated at home. We all have to think differently about the way children will learn during this remote learning period. We do not wish to promote children sitting at a computer all day watching their teacher, or peers – children need to be communicating, using authentic learning experiences and taking time to be physically active.

Our teachers have thought creatively about how they plan and teach lessons and how these can be adapted to promote learning at home. We will implement different approaches depending on the age and stage of individual learners.

On each class tab you can access an overview of learning that covers the current school closure (Term 4).  We have also included a timetable that will support you to plan your day around any Zoom  lessons and other elements of the school curriculum. Our aim, whenever possible, is to follow the curriculum offer we have when pupils are in school.

The Government have created guidelines for schools in terms of remote learning;  the document ‘Penshurst Approach to Remote Learning ‘ sets out how we meet those guidelines in our offer to pupils and parents.

The purpose of these documents is to provide you with an overview and information to support you.

Please see also information below that is linked to your child’s class.
